Letters of Change

A weekly space for happiness, self-trust & the art of living well

Hello Reader!

Have you ever felt that life was holding you in the waiting room as if your turn would come only when someone else finally moved aside?

Sometimes, we wait so long for the “right moment” that we forget we can create it ourselves.

When the Wait Ends, the Leap Begins

She had spent 18 years working her way up inside her region’s bank network. She knew the system, the people, the politics. Everyone assumed she would be the next in line when the top role opened.

But then, the twist: her boss, who had promised to retire, decided to stay...

That moment hit her like a cold truth.

Am I really willing to wait another few years? Another five? Or even ten?

When we spoke about what she truly wanted, her answer was clear. She longed to lead a real company, to make big decisions with visible results, not just wait for someone else’s timeline.

Her answer was clear and steady:

She didn’t just want a title. She wanted the power to shape directions, to lead with vision, to see results she could stand behind.

Just weeks later, an unexpected opportunity appeared. A client of the bank, who ran a holding company with several factories, offered her the director’s chair.

It wasn’t the role she’d imagined waiting for. It was better. Much better!
A chance to create, to steer, to lead in her own right.

At 50, after nearly two decades of waiting for permission, she chose to leap.

The Power of Saying Yes

This is what I call the Pioneer’s Leap: a thrilling moment when courage is essential and you take the bold step forward, ready to discover the path ahead. With each step, you trust that the journey will unfold in exciting ways, leading you to new horizons.

It’s not about reckless risk-taking. It’s about recognizing that sometimes the biggest risk is staying put, waiting for doors that may never open.

The leap is a declaration: I’m ready to shape my own future. Are you?

Help Someone Else

If you know a friend or colleague at a crossroads, share this letter or the quiz link with them. Inspire others simply by showing what’s possible. Sometimes a story is the spark they’ve been waiting for.

Next Wednesday I will share how changes work in practice for Explorer, Pathfinder and Pioneer.
